Searching for the term “beauty” on GettyImages.com result in series of young white women touching their faces with delicate hands. By analysing these photographs I could observe which definition of beauty they refer to. The stock imagery company adapts its production to the demand of the market, therefore it can reflect restrictive social conventions. In this case the term “beauty” concerns the market aimed, and so strictly fit to traditional idealisation of hygiene, health and self-care. As a personal translation I used delicate ceramic to reproduce these commercial icons of beauty.
